1 Kings 13:15 Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread
Abba's Word about food
is still as valid today as in the biblical times!
We can live longer, healthier and feel happier
when we feed our bodies with the best Yahweh has for us.

So let's remember to always listen for that 'still small voice'
and follow the leading of Ruach ha'Kodesh, Holy Spirit
into all truth and enjoy every blessing that Life has to offer
in keeping with good nutrition for good health!

How To Make Tea

There is something really beautiful about tea…the scent, the dried herbs and flowers, and of course the taste.  In all of my years of drinking tea, I don’t know why I’ve never attempted to make my own blends.  It’s so much fun mixing all of the different ingredients to get a custom tea just to your liking, and it’s also a great gift for others!

Have fun with it and experiment with different ingredients and ratios until you find a mixture that’s just right for you.  I got my hands on some ingredients and made a few homemade teas that I can’t wait to try.

The important thing to note when making your own tea is to be sure that all of your ingredients are safe for consumption. I got my ingredients from a shop in Philadelphia called Essene.

For this first blend I used peppermint, chamomile and jasmine flowers for a soothing, relaxing tea. Both peppermint and chamomile teas are great to drink before bed and can also help sooth the stomach. Jasmine also helps to reduce anxiety so this is a great all-around blend for soothing the nerves and relaxing the mind and body.

I wanted to make a more invigorating tea as well so for this one I used black ceylon tea leaves, rose petals and vanilla bean.  Ceylon is one of my favorite black teas and has a rich aroma and flavor.  It can also help boost the immune system and make you more alert.  I added in some rose petals and a small bit of vanilla bean to give it some additional flavor!

This last blend was more of an experiment – I love lavender so I wanted to test it out, and paired it with some mint and hibiscus.  Hibiscus is rich in vitamin C so it gives your immune system a boost and can also decrease depression and mood swings.

Once you’ve mixed your teas, have some fun with the packaging! I used some large tea bags, small brown paper bags and embroidery thread to package mine – they’d make adorable gifts this holiday season!
